Troop 2019 goes Bushcrafting!
On December 10-12, 2019, Troop 2019 went on a bushcrafting campout. It was so much fun! We learned a lot of different things. We learned different kinds of knots, how to make a tarp shelter, how to make a fire without matches like the Native Americans. We had many options of other activities like hiking, friction fire with a bow-drill, and small trap building. We got to cook our own meals and some of them over an open fire. We helped the land owner by performing a conservation service project where we cleaned up a lot of brush and deadwood. We had tons of fun and we learned tons of things. - Gianna |
Eagle Scout Court of Honor at Texas State Capitol
On November 17, 2019, Troop 2019 was asked to perform the flag ceremony at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor at the Texas State Capitol. We worked hard to get our presentation perfect, learn a lot about how to correctly present The Colors and received many compliments on our esprit decor. We are so excited that we were a part of an Eagle Scout ceremony and it couldn't have gone any better! |
Sailing with Scouts BSA Troop 2019!
Sea Scout Ship Texas (S410) took Scouts BSA Troop 2019 out sailing on Lake Belton. Every Scout had the opportunity to sail different positions on one of three keel boats we set sail on for the day. It was so much fun! Thanks Skipper Tex for your awesome leadership and being just the coolest Scout leader we have ever met! And thanks Scoutmaster Kim for making him do it! |

LPSR Shooting Sports Campout!
Troop 2019 recruits were allowed to attend a shooting sports campout at Lost Pines Scout Reservation. The girls started by attending several gun safety classes during the weeks prior. Then they planned the campout, made their own camp, prepared their own food, and learned how to shoot. It was a lot of fun and a great opportunity to educate them about the serious subject of gun safety. As a bonus, we were able to also check out the archery range! |
